My Story

I’m Deanna, the owner of Blue Bike Quilt Studio.

I’ve been married for 28 years, and my husband and I have 9 children, 8 of them boys. Quilting became a grounding part of my life when our kids were young. In the middle of all the noise and busyness, sitting down to sew for just a few minutes brought me a sense of calm and joy.

I learned to sew from my mom, and my Grandma Liddy taught me how to quilt. I’ve been making quilts for 36 years, and over time I fell in love with the quilting itself. With my husband’s support, I bought my first longarm machine, and that opened a whole new creative world for me. Longarming became a way to express myself, and I’ve never looked back.

Before opening the studio, I worked from our home just outside Gillette. When customers came to drop off quilts, I’d tell them, “Turn at the blue bike.” It became a landmark, and eventually the name for the studio.

Blue Bike Quilt Studio is built on that same spirit… welcoming, creative, and grounded in community. Whether you’re just getting started or have been quilting for years, you’re always welcome here.
